The atelier · Mercer St.
Slow work, by hand, for keeps.
Aurelia began in 2011 with two chairs and a bench. Today it is five people, one rule, and the same patience — every piece finished by one goldsmith, from first sketch to final polish.
How it started
A repair shop that kept everything.
Elena Voss opened the workshop to repair vintage pieces for local dealers. Clients kept asking her to make things instead — so in 2014, she showed twelve pieces of her own. They sold before the year ended.
The foundry arrived in 2018, bringing casting in-house and cutting lead times from ten weeks to four. In 2021 we published our traceability pledge: every stone documented and fair-mined, and the year of making engraved inside every band and cuff. Nothing about the way we work has changed since — only the number of hands doing it.
What we hold to
Three promises, kept daily.
Made, not manufactured
Every piece begins as wax, is cast in-house, and is finished by one goldsmith from start to end. Your name is in our book, not on a line.
Stones with a story
Each diamond and gem arrives with a documented origin and is logged by hand in our ledger. Fair-mined is not a label here — it is the floor.
Built for decades
We size, re-finish and repair everything we make, for the lifetime of the piece. The workshop bench is always open to our own work.
