The night climb of Sri Pada — 5,500 steps through the dark, ending with the sun rising above a sea of clouds.
Every year, pilgrims of four faiths climb Adam's Peak through the night to greet the sunrise. We join them respectfully — a lantern-lit ascent of 5,500 steps, chai stalls along the way, and the famous shadow of the mountain cast across the clouds at dawn. A profound, once-in-a-lifetime morning.
Transfer to a lodge near the base town of Dalhousie; an early night before the climb.
A midnight start with lanterns, chai stops and pilgrims' songs — summit by 5am for the sunrise.
A long sleep, then a gentle afternoon among the tea estates at the mountain's foot.
A leisurely breakfast before your transfer onward or to the airport.
Base region: Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) — Central Highlands. A 2,243-metre pyramid sacred to Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Christians alike. The night climb ends with the sun rising above a sea of clouds — one of Asia's great pilgrimages.
