Cooler than you expect — nights in Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains can drop to 8–12°C, and Adam's Peak summits around 5°C before dawn. We send a packing list, but broadly: layers, a warm jacket and closed shoes. Days are mild and pleasant, around 18–22°C.

Yes — the Kandy–Ella line is repeatedly voted among the world's most beautiful rail journeys. We book first-class reserved seats on the right side of the train (the view side) and time the ride for daylight. Doors open at the scenic sections, but you stay safe inside the carriage.

Little Adam's Peak and the Nine Arch walk are easy and suitable for most fitness levels. Horton Plains is a gentle 9km loop on level paths. The Adam's Peak climb is the real workout — 5,500 steps, roughly 4 hours up — and we schedule a rest day after. Tell us your level and we'll pace accordingly.

January to April is the classic hill-country season: clear skies, dry trails and the Adam's Peak pilgrimage at its best. The region is lovely year round — the mist and rain are part of its character — but book early for the peak season.

Almost always. More nights in Ella, a private train carriage, a slower pace — tell us what you'd change and we'll price it transparently. For anything that doesn't fit our published tours, we'll build you a tailor-made hill itinerary from scratch.

The pilgrimage season is busy — that's part of the atmosphere, and pilgrims are generous and welcoming. We climb at times that balance the experience with fewer crowds, and our guide keeps you to the quieter sections of the route.

Absolutely. The tea-country and Little England tours are gentle and family-friendly. For Horton Plains we offer a shorter loop option, and for Adam's Peak a pony-assisted start is available. Tell us who's travelling and we'll tailor the pace.

A 20% deposit secures your place. Cancel more than 60 days before departure for a full refund of payments made; 30–60 days, 50%; within 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable unless we can rebook your place.
