The journey

Twelve days that trace the island's whole story. Ancient capitals and painted caves, the world's most beautiful train journey through tea country, sunrise on Adam's Peak, and the Dutch ramparts of Galle — ending with a day on the southern coast that is entirely your own. Our most complete journey, and the one first-timers should book.

Highlights

  • The blue train from Kandy to Ella through tea country
  • Sunrise climb of Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) above the clouds
  • Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam's Peak in Ella
  • Galle Fort's ramparts at golden hour
  • Two relaxed nights on the southern coast at the end
